Kate is a Michigan native who has been living Indiana for the last 11 years with her family. Her husband and she are now semi-empty nesters who recently moved from the suburbs to downtown Indianapolis.

She has always had a passion for interior design and art. Starting with a career in professional photography (and a detour into customer success and sales in the tech world) she has settled in to home staging and interior styling for short term rentals. Pulling together all the details be it for a short term rental to wow your guests or for your own home as you are getting ready to go to market and wanting to make an exceptional impression on potential buyers, she’s here for it!

Spending time exploring vintage and thrift shops with coffee in hand is the perfect Saturday afternoon. The thrill of the hunt is in finding interesting and unique items to add to a styling project!

Kate’s goal is to understand her client’s needs and then provide them with inviting and functional designs to bring their vision to life. Using a blend of vintage and modern furniture, textiles, and art she aims to create minimalistic and warm designs for her clients.

Did you know…

You may be wondering, what is “Koti” and how was that chosen as part of the branding for our company.

Koti means “home” in Finnish. Kate is 25% Finnish on her Dad’s side of the family with her Great-Grandparents coming over separately to the United States (they were neighbors as children) and finding one another when they older.

Her Finnish heritage has always been a big part of who Kate is and she loves incorporating that into her life and business. She uses her “sisu”, which is a Finnish term that can be roughly translated into English as “strength of will, determination, perseverance, and acting rationally in the face of adversity”, to push herself to create a successful business.
